D&P PRODUCTIONS AFTERWORK MIX AND MINGLE EVENT - Update Aug. 16. Hello Friends: Wellfor those of you who joined us on the Crab Feast, you know that a great time was had by all.. For those of you who did not have a chance to join us, our next trip will be the Presidents' Day Weekend Ski Trip. The Ladies of SKYY will be performing along with Atlantic Starr and Glenn Jones More details on that later. As far as this week is concerned, Patrisha and I are moving full speed ahead for our Mix and Mingle Event this Friday, August 18, 2006 at NY Perks, 193 Smith Street, between Baltic and Warren Streets. ("F" Train to Bergen Street---if u ride the front, you will be across the street).
The theme is Hawaiian Luau, so bring your grass skirts and your flowered shirts!!! (that is, if you have one!!). Join us for another entertaining evening. Our performance line-up will include The Reggae Twinz, Mr. Deverne Williams, Jay Luther, El (a new Hip-Hop/R&B Sensation), and of course, your Divahs in residence, the Latina Diva Miss Connie, and yours truly, Lady SKYY - Denise!! The music will be handled by DJ Finesse, and Sound by DJ Prince for Austin Kwame Wilkinson Enterprises.
Doors open at 6:00 PM and admission is free before 8:00 PM. Admission is $10.00 after 8:00 PM. NY Perks will serve Two for One drinks from 6:00-7:30, and drink specials all night long. They also have a great appetizer menu! So..come on down and join us for the last party of the SUMMER!!!!

Hello Friends:
Well, the weather has cooled down considerably! Just want you to keep in mind that D&P Productions is Mix and Mingle Events are hotter than ever! We are preparing for another fun-filled and entertaining evening on Friday, August 18, 2006. Remember, it all happens at NY Perks, Brooklyn's newest lounge, located at 193 Smith Street between Warren and Baltic Streets. (Take the "F" train to Bergen Street Station).
The party starts at 6:00 PM, with music by DJ Doug Brown.
Admission is free before 8:00 PM, $10.00 after. NY Perks has drink specials and martini specials during the 6:00 -7:30 happy hour, so ge there EARLY. Showtime is at 8:30. We showcase some of the hottest talent in NYC. For those of you who braved the rain last month, you were part of the special treat from our surprise guest artist!
Ms. Jamaica Funk (that's what it is), Toni Smith, graced our stage with her rendition of Chaka Khan's Sweet Thing. We also had Ms. Denise Jones rendition of Rollin' on the River, and of course, the Latina Diva, Miss Connie, givin' us the Latin flava! Mr. Wallace Gary (Toni's brother), also crooned (and swooned the ladies), with "My Funny Valentine." Thanks to all of our artists for coming down on such a lousy nite.

The talent line-up was also spectacular, with the introduction of the lovely Ms. Denise Dixon to our roster of artists...That young lady is definitely going all the way to the TOP! Crescendo put on their usual sterling performance, and yours truly, along with my sis' Dolores, gave you a "little bit of SKYY". Thanks, too, to Ms. Connie for doing HER thing as well!!! A special thanks goes out to all of you who continually support D&P Productions events. On Tuesday, December 6th, The Bad Boys From New York, those Legendary Persuaders will be interviewed on WWRL, 1600 AM on your dial. The interview will be airing at 5 P.M. The Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc, Affinity Health Plan & North General Hospital Present HEALTH TIME AT THE APOLLO FOCUS ON SENIOR HEALTH
On Wednesday, December 7th, The Persuaders will be performing at The Legendary Apollo Theater. Their appearance will follow a special event, "Health Time At The Apollo", which will focus on Senior Health. The Health Fair will take place between 5 PM until 7 PM in the Lobby of The Apollo theater & will feature FREE health screenings for: Glaucoma, Bone Density, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Hypertension, Glucose & Body Mass Index, as well as free giveaways & nutrition & health handouts. Immediately following the Health Fair, will be a special Apollo Senior Amateur Night, with the Special Guests for the evening, The Persauders! The Persuaders will be performing before intermission & then sign autographs for all, in the lobby. So, please do yourself a favor & come out & be screened & then enjoy the superb Soulful sounds of the one, the only, NEW YORK'S OWN PERSUADERS!

This Past Monday evening, KISS-FM (98.7FM), treated their loyal listeners to a Listeners Appreciation Party, held at Club Exit (610 W.56th St. bet. 11th & 12th Aves.). By all measures, this party was slamming!!
The KISS-FM party featured Reggie Wells spinning classics & performances by Trey Songz, Meli'sa Morgan, Freddie Jackson & Eric Benet. ALL OF THE PERFORMANCES were off the hook & KISS_FM treated their loyal listeners to one of the best nights of entertainment that I've seen this year! As a lover of Classic Soul music, this is my way of saying "THANK YOU" to all of the Soul Music heroes of my youth. Many have said that that's just the way that the music industry worked & was (here's a great cliche'), "STANDARD OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE"!. Though that is obviously true, it doesn't make it right & no one should try to condone past and/or present practices, with such a calloused & weak excuse such as that. It was & is wrong, POINT BLANK!!! These are the goals of this website. My sincere thanks to every entertainer who ever graced a stage or raised their voices in song. I send much love to the "hipsters" on the corner, the fellas in the barbershop, the men & ladies of the church & the neighborhood & give all due respect to the families who fought to keep things together. In the end, they are us & we are them!
