Diplomats Sued Over "I'm Ready" Sample

The Diplomats, Roc-A-Fella Records, Island Def Jam Music Group & Universal Music Group have been sued by Jamie Music Publishing. Jamie filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court claiming The Diplomats song "I'm Ready" from 2003's "Diplomatic Immunity" infringes upon Barbara Mason's 1965 hit "Yes I'm Ready."

Benzino Hit With Income Tax Charges

Raymond "Benzino" Scott, co-owner of the Source Magazine, has been charged by the U.S. attorney's office in Massachusetts with tax evasion for not reporting an estimated $1.5 million in combined income from 1999 & 2000.
Scott plead innocent to willful failure to file tax returns on Oct. 28.
"I'll be vindicated," Scott told AllHipHop.com. "They been investigating me for years and all they got me for is not filing taxes."

Grokster Service Shuts Down

The owners and operators of the Grokster peer-to-peer
network--the lead and most well-known defendants in one of
the Supreme Court's seminal decisions this year--agreed today
to shut down operations to settle the three-year-old piracy
case with the nation's major record companies, motion picture
studios and music publishers.

Report: Infinity Suspends Stern

According to Sirius Satellite Radio's "Howard 100" channel,
Howard Stern has been given a one-day suspension from his
syndicated show, following an altercation with Tom Chiusano,
GM of Infinity flagship WXRK (K-Rock) New York. The argument,
which took place following Stern's Monday show, apparently
centered around Stern talking too much about Sirius on the
show.
