Sunday, October 02, 2005 - Maxine Brown Wears Her Crown At Joe's Pub!!!
Tonight, a full house at N.Y.C.'s Joe's Pub, was treated to an stellar performance by the legendary Maxine Brown.
Maxine was absolutely stunning as she stormed through a set of selections from her new CD, as well as some of her classic hits. Maxine carries herself with regal bearing & the tiara fits her well. Maxine is true to the era when our entertainers carried themselves with class. She is indeed an underrated wonder.
Maxine strode out center stage to WILD applause & served up some very tasty morsels of soul. Maxine was in superb voice...SUPERB VOICE!!! If you haven't heard Maxine live, you're missing out on a real treat. Maxine is no "Oldies" act. She is a formidable performer & I don't see or hear where she's lost anything off of her fastball.
Maxine's voice soared, it swooped & it tore at your very soul. Maxine worked that room. She strode through a loving crowd & they danced & sang along with her in the aisles. When I say that Maxine worked that room, I'm telling you that she WORKED THAT ROOM.
AND THEY ATE IT UP LIKE IT WAS FILET!!!
In parting, I'll say that I was indeed impressed & add Maxine to a ever-growing list of classic R&B/Soul artists who STILL deliver tremendous skill & give you bang for your buck.
She has a new CD & folks, she is definitely worthy of your support. I'm hear to testify that Ms Maxine Brown is in as fine voice as she's ever been. I understand that a Japan tour may be in the makings. The extent of the tour is pending. Additionally, her new cd is now in the record stores in the USA, as well as in Europe and worldwide.
